At KDC, we encourage the continual growth and education of our therapists.  We sponsor several continuing education courses for not only our therapists, but for the community as well.

This course will address treatment approaches that clinical experience has shown produce much more progress in a shorter amount of time than traditional methods.  In many cases it is the combination of treatment strategies that enhances the effectiveness of each.  This course provides an overview of the “power tool” strategies most effective for the child with modulation, postural, motor and/or learning and behavioral problems.  Join us and discover how the integration of a variety of strategies results in significant, measurable changes.  Treatment approaches will include:  New perspectives on SI theory and practice, CranioSacral therapy applications, metabolic considerations, modulation strategies, i.e. intensity concepts for sensory diet, therapeutic uses of music, rhythm and suck/swallow/breathe functions.

While some of the techniques discussed can be immediately put to use, prior experience with traditional sensory integration principles and practice will make application of theses advanced approaches more meaningful, and the complex nature of integrating them with current practice more successful.  Basic sensory integration principles will not be covered in the course.
